As the helicopter flew over Cambodia the door gunner tapped him on the shoulder and pointed to a little opening in the jungle and told him, that’s where we are going to put you in. A few minutes later he was reporting to LT Thackery

Birthday celebration in Bien Hoa
While on Stand Down in Bien Hoa Rick celebrated his birthday with a bunch of guys at a Korean restaurant. The next day he remembers going with a guy from Range named Bob Rezek, to the EM club where they played pool.
