24 May 1968 · Quang Tri Province, I Corps, RVN (the casualty province of record). No grid established.

D Co / 2-19 Arty Loss — Wounding of 1LT Harrison Woehnker Jr, May 24, 1968 (Died of Wounds July 18)

1 KIA. 1LT Harrison E Woehnker Jr. Woehnker's unit of record per Virtual Wall, matching his MOS (1193, Field Artillery Unit Commander) and rank (1LT). 2/19 Arty was the direct-support artillery battalion for 1st Brigade (which included 2/8 Cav) throughout this quarter — see AD393815.

5 Feb 1969 · Tay Ninh Province, III Corps, RVN — a creek crossing in D Company's AO near FSB Saint Barbara (confirmed grid XT275684, 11.4748/106.1651 — see locations/fsb-st-barbara/), nicknamed "Colavita Creek" by the company afterward. The exact grid of the creek crossing itself, relative to that base, is not established.

D Company Losses — Operation Sheridan Sabre, February 5, 1969

2 KIA. CPL James Thomas Edmonds, SP4 Chester Jon Kmit. Lost two men to enemy fire on February 5, 1969, at a creek crossing in its AO near FSB/LZ Saint Barbara — one week after the Jan 28, 1969 D Co losses at FSB Rita. Commanded at the time by CPT Henry Colavita ("Angry Skipper-6"), who has since given a firsthand account of the engagement in his memoir. Platoon assignments for Edmonds and Kmit are not yet established.

4 Jun 1968 · YD324393, I Corps, RVN

D Company Bunker-Complex Contact — June 4, 1968 (YD324393)

1 KIA. PFC Brian Carl Winner. Engaged NVA forces in a bunker complex with automatic-weapons fire. Scout helicopters supporting the company also took fire. The company received incoming 60mm mortar fire (13 rounds) during the action.
